And You Just Put This…
Some “projects” are harder than others. Sometimes the box says “three and older” but they didn’t really mean it. Some times it says “six and older” but the three year old can handle it well. I guess it is a only a guideline.
A couple weeks ago we were building insects – several little pieces to insert here and here and here and then they should stand up and be placed on the cardboard print-out.
Easier said than done but we did it!!!!
Now, today, another project – sewing…
This involved “sewing” a plastic piece onto a felt piece and then onto another felt piece and then…
They both did an outstanding job but not without some “assistance” from the teacher and, even grandpa was called into service. (And it was a bit of a ‘lesson’ for him, too.)
Projects are always fun but as a former teacher, I remember with anguish how many times students would finish in “two minutes” or they thought they were finished, others would spendĀ a great deal of time and would produce “masterpieces” and others would, somehow, never finish!!!
But, projects, are so necessary for the learning. And the twins show different capabilities and different interests and levels of concentration, patience and tolerance for such activity. So, it is just fun!!
